GOLLY GOSH…

Time flies!

A lot has happened but no time for typing! We’ve spent a lot of time cleaning and in furniture shops and IKEA.

A quick round up of what we’ve done so far…

We moved into our apartment – it seems nice (we haven’t spent much time in it yet!). It’s in a quiet area with a supermarket nearby and a Starbucks within walking distance – of course! It’s going to take a bit of adjusting to living back in a flat rather than a house but once we have furniture I’m sure it will feel more like home! We have a fab gigantic bed and a mattress on the floor as a make-shift sofa. This week’s mission is to finish unpacking as we’ve been away so much we still have things in suitcases.

We bought a car, our massive decision for the month! He’s called Harold, he’s a white Honda CRV. He’s nice and easy to drive and like most American cars he has a reversing camera which I already don’t know how we’ll live without back in the UK! I drove all by myself yesterday and I was fine so hopefully with a bit more practice I’ll be ready to take my driving test soon. Chris bought him from a garage where it’s tradition to ring a giant bell on the shop floor once you’ve bought a car – I wish I had been there to video that!

We went to Las Vegas for my birthday, I’ll put some picture on soon, we had a really nice, relaxing break. It was a lot of fun looking at all the hotels and watching people play in the casino. Chris won $120, he’s pretty lucky sometimes!

Our friends arrived from the UK and we helped them put their furniture together and had a hilarious trip to Target with them. It’s really nice to have friends here and I think it’s going to help us settle in a lot better. We’ve had a lot of fun with them already.

I went to Florida to see my mum and dad. All of our birthdays are a week apart so it was the perfect time to see them and have some fun including some crazy golf and a trip to a water park!

That brings us up to date I think! I wasn’t sure if I was going to share this blog or just keep it as a reminder for us of the things we’ve done? I think it would be nice to share it with our friends and family and then if people would like to read it they can, if you don’t want to or just dip in and out that’s fine too! It might be a nice way of keeping in touch….it might also be quite boring if nothing is happening but we’ll see?! Also, if my friends do read this, I just want to say thank you for all the emails. I’m not great at replying because (and this will sound ridiculous as I’m not working!!!) there just never seem to be enough hours in the day! But I appreciate that you take the time to keep me in the loop! Ok, enough of the mushy stuff! I’m off to investigate my first furniture order which has just been delivered – woohoo!!
