I like the name of this restaurant. I like it’s huge outdoor patio. I like the attached deli that sells coffee, cakes and light lunches. I like the slightly fancy feel the restaurant has, perfect for a birthday treat. So a few weeks ago that’s exactly where we went for a birthday treat. Luckily I made reservations because even though it was a Monday night, it was packed!
The birthday boy had a birthday cocktail and Chicken Scallopini with a Madeira and spinach sauce. I had Prosciutto and Marscapone Tortellini.
The mains were so good we decided to try pudding even though we had birthday cake waiting at home. The Cheesecake was ok, it was “deconstructed” into a jar and had a strong pumpkin flavour that we weren’t all that keen on….seasonal fruit was how the menu described it….next time check what the seasonal fruit is before ordering! The Toasted Coconut Cakes with blood orange sorbet were delicious! They sounded a bit odd to me as a desert but they were a really nice combination and very yummy! They were also huge, more than enough for two people to share!
We enjoyed the meal so much that I want to go back to try breakfast AND they have a big ice cream counter which looks very tempting…..
The dishes look great. Prosciutto and Marscapone.. don’t think I ever had that combo before, sounds good though.
Happy belated birthday to the bday boy!

Thank you. I hadn’t had that combination before either! The sauce had peas and sweetcorn, I really wasn’t sure if it was going to nice when it turned up but luckily the risk paid off!
