I AM 9 MONTHS OLD

Christmas got in the way of sharing my 9 month update but here it is, just in time!

I am 9 months old. This brings another visit to the doctor where I passed my weight, length and iron check with flying colours!

Things I love…

Emptying things out of boxes. Mummy keeps putting a toy in my tupperware box. Every time, I shake the box and empty it back out then she puts another toy in and I have to tip it up again and empty it. I like the box to be empty, it’s a fun game! She also fills my nursery box with different items every week and every morning I get to empty it out and play for a while before breakfast. This box is so big I have to climb into it to reach the toys at the bottom.

Crawling. One day I woke up and I could suddenly move from sitting up to all fours. The next day, I could suddenly go from all fours back to sitting. Now I can push up from all fours to hold a plank position and even hold my leg in the air at the same time. Next day I army shuffled across the room and two days later, I was up on all fours crawling.

Food. I’ve taken a leap into some new foods this month. We can now add rice, quinoa, prunes, chicken, carrots, potatoes, apricots, blueberries and onions to my menu. I also ate my first pancakes. Mummy made them specially for me with bananas and oats. I love them because I can eat them all by myself, no spoon required!

Grandma and Grandad. They came for a quick visit and I seemed to recognise them instantly, in real life, this time. I enjoyed playing with them and we all ate pancakes at breakfast.

High chair. I really enjoy sitting in my high chair at restaurants. Mummy and Daddy let me eat food with them now and it’s a lot of fun!

Playing. I enjoy playing with toys, paper, peekaboo, people, teddy bears, spoons, boxes, wipes, diapers, straps, changing pads, clothes….you name it and I will play with it…and probably chew it….I still like to chew things too!

Things I dislike…

Teeth. I now have four teeth. The two top ones have caused me a lot of bother when I’m trying to sleep and Mummy has the bite marks on her shoulder to prove it.

Cold. I had my first cold this month. It sucked. I coudn’t breathe properly and Mummy and Daddy kept trying to wipe my nose and face. It made me very very cross.

Sleep. I haven’t been sleeping very well this month and I think it’s because there are just too many things going on. I’ve been learning new things,  growing teeth and had a cold, these all make sleeping tricky!

Mummy and Daddy’s favourite thing about this month was getting to celebrate our first Christmas together. They enjoyed watching me open my presents and playing with my new toys. They say I’m a lot of fun….and I agree!

  1. Well now aren’t you a cutie! I agree that eating with your mummy and daddy is fun! I wish I could do a plank like you can… to be honest crawling hurts me so I don’t stand much chance 😉 Now those bite marks on poor mummy’s shoulders look very painful. I know it’s not your fault but I hope you made up for it with lots of cuddles. Teeth really are the worst… It does come to an end I promise.
Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday.
